NCCC Youth Corps

This summer 100 youth, age 14 to 17, many from Denver’s inner city neighborhoods, participated in the Americorps*NCCC Youth Corps. Groundwork Denver partnered with the NCCC on several work projects including cleanup and maintenance of the Lakewood Gulch, trail building in Cherry Creek State Park, invasive plant and dead tree removal along the Platte River, in Denver’s natural areas, and at Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge, stormwater sewer labeling, and improvements to public school playgrounds and “learning landscapes”.
